Start Your Go Creative! Week. Exercise 11: Carnival
Posted on August 24, 2013 by Kira Kenley
Why not make this week a creative one and try our task?
Carnival
This weekend means Carnival if you are anywhere near Notting Hill, in London.
To give everyone a chance to get into a carnival humour the usual Monday post is being posted a few days earlier…
The definition for “Carnival” on Wikipedia is as follows:
“Carnival typically involves a public celebration or parade combining some elements of a circus, mask and public street party. People often dress up or masquerade during the celebrations, which mark an overturning of daily life.”
At Go Creative! we particularly like the last part of the definition.
Exercise 11
Consider how you might add a carnival feel to your week and ‘overturn’ your daily life. Here are some suggestions:
- Listen to some “carnival” music. A great place to start is anything by Sergio Mendes + Brasil 66. Have a listen by clicking on the picture above
- Dress up – add some colour to your wardrobe and watch how it makes you feel
- Move – when was the last time you danced, jumped around for no other reason but that your body could. Try it. Alone or it is great fun in company. Why not go dancing? Is there a street party?
What about the Notting Hill carnival on Sunday and Monday?
Mmmmm….
Whatever you do HAVE A GREAT CARNIVAL WEEKEND!!!
Enjoy!
I love the carnival so much fun and you get exercise by walking around and checking everything out.
